Duties
Lead the mechanical engineering team in designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems using CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks.
Oversee project scheduling, ensuring timely delivery of engineering milestones while managing resources effectively.
Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures or performance issues, implementing corrective actions to improve reliability.
Develop detailed schematics, technical drawings, and system diagrams in accordance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and ASME codes & standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to facilitate seamless transition from design to production, utilizing CNC machining, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and other simulation tools like MATLAB and Simulink.
Manage system design activities involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, LabVIEW automation, and other control systems.
Ensure compliance with industry safety standards by applying knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and best practices during design reviews and inspections.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by performing FEA analyses, conducting manufacturing process evaluations, and implementing innovative solutions for mechanical challenges.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; professional engineering license preferred.
Proven experience in mechanical design, system integration, and project management within an engineering environment.
Strong proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and Inventor for detailed drafting and modeling.
Hands-on experience with CAD schematics, system design documentation, and drafting standards.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes including CNC machining, 3D printing, and assembly techniques.
Knowledge of control systems programming using PLCs, Arduino microcontrollers, LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink for automation applications.
Expertise in applying ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels, piping systems, or related mechanical components.
Skilled in root cause analysis methods to troubleshoot mechanical failures effectively.
Ability to perform FEA simulations for stress analysis and thermal evaluations; experience with Quantum engineering concepts is a plus.
Excellent project scheduling skills to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
