Job Description

Toyon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the design, fabrication, and fielding of aerospace vehicles. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, design, drafting, computer software / development, and hardware. This individual will play a key role in the development of the design of aerospace vehicles and evaluation of their performance.

The ideal individual will have experience using codes such as ANSYS Mechanical, ABAQUS, and SIERRA Mechanics. Code development experience includes MATLAB, Python, C++, TCL and other scripting languages. A strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and the application of mathematical principles is desired in the fields of statics, dynamics, heat transfer, chemistry, compressible flow, and engineering mechanics. Computer-aided software experience with Solidworks and Creo Parametric is desired. Toyon-development software will be part of employee-training.

The ideal candidate for the mechanical engineer position will have the following experience, skills, and growth path ambitions:

• B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on heat transfer, mechanical design, and structural analysis and five years of experience.
• Experience in the design, fabrication, evaluation, and fielding of aerospace hardware

U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required.

The annual pay range for the Mechanical Engineer position is $100,000 to $170,000.

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate\'s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
