POSITION: Mechanical Drafter STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed drawings to be used in the development and production of our power systems. This role will be working closely with the engineering team to incorporate their Solidworks design into an Autodesk Revit file of each project in its entirety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and develop design concepts, detailed plans, and specifications for mechanical devices and equipment;
  • Use Autodesk software drawings, or other documents that depict the design of mechanical components and systems;
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet all technical requirements;
  • Conduct research and development models that meet all the specifications laid out by the customer;
  • Ensure designs meet all relevant quality and safety standards, codes, and regulations and are compliant with industry-specific requirements;
  • Analyze potential problems that could arise during the construction process and recommend any solutions to solve these issues;
  • Use customer feedback and data to find any areas of improvement or identify areas of repair for existing machines;
  • Document accurate records of the design process and any test analytics;
Other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college in a drafting or related field required;
  • 3+ years of Autodesk Revit software experience required;
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and best practices;
  • Proven experience in designing industry-specific products;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and extremely meticulous;
  • Ability to independently identify specifications and requirements from customer packages;
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with little direction needed;
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards;
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing industry;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace.
