Our company is looking for an experienced, accomplished, self-motivated mechanical designer to be part of a team that is directly involved in the engineering design, product design, product development and implementation of these designs in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is an inventive problem solver that works through technical challenges employing solid engineered solutions to maintain and support our industry-leading products. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small team that provides coating inspection and pig tracking equipment that meets our client\xe2\x80\x99s needs both locally and across the globe. Mechanical Designer The Mechanical Designer will support efforts to improve company product design capabilities and documentation control processes. The Designer will be part of our Engineering team in the design of new products and documenting design enhancements to our existing products. With this individual\xe2\x80\x99s expertise in SolidWorks and familiarity with AutoCAD the team will also be involved in updating our existing AutoCAD designs into SolidWorks document packages for our design server. Duties and Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Design and integrate multi-level electro-mechanical systems using CAD from initial product concept stage, prototyping, manufacturing and production launch. \xc2\xb7 Specify, source, and select components needed to produce completed assemblies/systems. \xc2\xb7 Modify/change existing designs to meet any new requirements. \xc2\xb7 Assist in production, material and supplier problem solving as it relates to engineering issues. \xc2\xb7 Provide hands-on support of electromechanical assembly as needed. \xc2\xb7 Create and maintain appropriate drawings and product documentation. \xc2\xb7 Work with Engineering and Production to ensure design intent and production capabilities are properly documented. \xc2\xb7 Create detailed drawings of all necessary elements of a required design including but not limited to assemblies, sub-assemblies, weldments, sheet metal flat patterns, machined parts assembly instructions, and installation drawings. \xc2\xb7 Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from Engineers, Technicians and Manufacturing. Essential Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Associate Degree in Mechanical Design. \xc2\xb7 Minimum 4-6 years electro-mechanical product design using AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks. \xc2\xb7 Experience with technical drawings/schematics in AutoCAD for engineering documentation. \xc2\xb7 Understanding of mechanical and electrical hardware, their function, fabrication, processes and packaging. \xc2\xb7 Ability to quickly complete tasks independently and as a team member, with detailed or minimal instruction and supervision. \xc2\xb7 Ability to read and follow engineering notes, sketches, drawings specifications and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Experience with indented/nested BOM product structuring. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of electronic components, wiring diagrams and schematics. \xc2\xb7 Hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical knowledge. \xc2\xb7 Interface/collaborate with internal team members, suppliers and customers. \xc2\xb7 Strong Microsoft Office skills, Excel, Word and Power Point. \xc2\xb7 Must have good interpersonal and team-oriented skills. \xc2\xb7 Must have effective written, verbal communications and command of the English Language. \xc2\xb7 Must not wear a pacemaker due to health issues around high voltage products. Desired Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Experience with Mold Layout, Machined Parts and Sheet Metal. \xc2\xb7 Ability to generate detailed fabrication drawings for machined components, sheet metal, Printed Circuit Boards and cable assemblies. \xc2\xb7 Experience preparing electronic schematics, flow logic diagrams, wiring and block diagrams. \xc2\xb7 Knowledgeable in electro-mechanical systems, machine shop practices, measuring systems, shop mathematics and assembly techniques. \xc2\xb7 Familiar with various mechanical analysis software within SolidWorks Job Snapshot \xc2\xb7 Pay Rate $31 - $33.50/hour \xc2\xb7 Employment Type: Full-Time, Work Onsite, with Benefits Package \xc2\xb7 Employment Status: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship \xc2\xb7 Education: Associate Degree in Mechanical Design \xc2\xb7 Experience: At least 4-6 years practicing as a Mechanical Designer \xc2\xb7 Industry: Pipeline Equipment Manufacturing \xc2\xb7 Required Travel: None Job Type: Full-time Pay: $31.00 - $33.50 per hour Benefits:
