For over 20 years, our team has focused on "Delivering a Premium" in everything we do. We design and build the most advanced luxury coaches for the entertainment industry, setting new standards for innovation and comfort. Your Team

At Encore Conversion Group, we transform standard 45-foot Prevost motorcoach shells into high-end entertainment coaches, pushing the limits of innovation and craftsmanship. Renowned across North America, our team takes pride in precision-built interiors and top-tier service. Joining Encore means becoming part of a group where creativity thrives, contributions matter, and your work directly shapes the future of luxury travel for entertainers and clients across the industry.

Your Role

As a

Mechanical Design Engineer

, you will be responsible for designing and modeling the entire interior of luxury motorcoaches, down to every component. You will create detailed 3D CAD models of cabinetry, walls, fixtures, furniture, and integrated systems, and translate those models into precise dimensioned drawings and CNC-ready files for production. Your role is to ensure that every part is engineered for manufacturability, fits seamlessly within the coach shell, and can be built to Encore's high standards of craftsmanship.

This is not a CAD drafter position. It is a hands-on engineering role that combines design ownership, manufacturable 3D modeling, and production integration. You will work closely with shop staff to support CNC machining, troubleshoot designs on the floor, and continuously improve how concepts translate into finished interiors.

Responsibilities

3D CAD Modeling:

Create complete digital models of the coach interior, including cabinetry, walls, fixtures, furniture, and integrated systems.

Design and Engineering:

Develop and refine designs to meet aesthetic, structural, and functional requirements, while ensuring manufacturability.

Dimensioned Drawings:

Produce detailed shop drawings, BOMs, and installation instructions to guide production.

CNC Preparation:

Generate CNC-ready files and program toolpaths for Biesse routers, including post-processing (.cix, ISO).

Systems Integration:

Engineer cabinetry and interiors to work seamlessly with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other systems in confined spaces.

Production Support:

Partner with shop teams during CNC setup, assembly, and installation, providing engineering support and troubleshooting.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify design or production bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and product quality.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, cabinetry/millwork engineering, or interior packaging of vehicles, RVs, yachts, or specialty products. Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or equivalent). Proven ability to create detailed 3D models and translate them into dimensioned drawings for manufacturing. Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction methods, joinery, and material selection. Hands-on experience with CNC setup, troubleshooting, and process optimization. Demonstrated ability to integrate cabinetry and systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) in confined spaces. Strong documentation skills, including BOMs, shop drawings, and work instructions.

Nice to Have

Experience with luxury interiors, coach/RV conversions, or yacht interiors. Experience programming CNC routers (Biesse preferred), including post-processing (.cix, ISO). Familiarity with woodworking machinery and advanced finishing techniques. Exposure to plumbing and electrical systems (12v/24v, 120v/240v). Experience with Autodesk Vault, Revit, or BIM tools. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
