This position will perform field measurement activities, including maintaining and calibrating measurement equipment and is responsible for proving and troubleshooting metering equipment. Proficient in all aspects of custody transfer measurement. Work closely with all District Operations Supervisor to insure accurate and consistent measurement of crude.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs maintenance, calibration, proving and troubleshooting of all equipment associated with measurements within the District including custody transfer and integrity meters, sampling systems and meter proving equipment and ensures all measurement equipment meets company and industry regulatory standards.
  • Perform all facets of volumetric measurements in accordance with the Plains All American Pipeline Measurement Manual.
  • Maintain and analyze proving reports and other documentation related to meter proving\xe2\x80\x99s and related equipment operations in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Provides support related measurement activities to field operations personnel and customers, including but not limited to, ticket writing, tank gauging and other required custody transfer activities.
  • Ensures all measurement and meter proving procedures are being followed according to company and industry standards.
  • Subject to overtime and \xe2\x80\x9con-call\xe2\x80\x9d hours as required.
  • Other pipeline-related duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of equivalent work experience with strong background and experience with measurement and related pipeline equipment associated with liquid hydrocarbon measurement (i.e. flow computers, hydrometers, photo-pulses and temperature / pressure transmitters).
  • Knowledge of ballistic, bidirectional and unidirectional prover\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Ability to have detailed understanding of Plains measurement policies and API measurement standards.
  • Ability to perform routine calibrations, maintenance and repair of measurement equipment.
  • Must have strong computer skills, with a good understanding of Excel or other worksheet applications.
  • Should have proficient math skills.
  • Must possess or obtain operator qualifications as deemed by the Operations Supervisor and complete Haz-Mat training, safety programs and meet minimum D.O.T. requirements.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, with ability to work alone and with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license to operate business vehicles.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry moderately heavy equipment or parts and position them during maintenance activities. May have to work in confined spaces, working, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing and walking distances in all types of terrain.
  • Works outdoors in open environment with extremes of heat and cold.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clean abstract
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
