We are seeking a personable, well-groomed, and professional maitre d'/doorman to create a welcoming first impression for our guests. The ideal candidate is charismatic, confident, and polished, with a natural ability to engage guests in a warm and welcoming manner. This role is vital in ensuring excellent guest experiences from the moment they arrive until they are seated. This role is also responsible for handling of the restaurant's 360 camera for guest interaction and social media. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and previous experience in food service or hospitality environments. Duties
Greet all guests promptly, warmly, and professionally upon arrival
Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using reservations system such as Open Table or Resy
Maintain a clean and organized entrance, lobby, and host stand area
Assist guests with seating preferences and answer inquiries about the menu or restaurant services
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of service
Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints with professionalism and tact
Manage phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette and provide accurate information about wait times or reservations
Support guest relations by providing attentive and friendly service throughout their visit
Coordinate seating to ensure proper table flow and balanced server sections
Escort guests to tables and present menus when necessary
Monitor dining room and bar capacity to comply with fire and safety codes
Communicate accurately with servers, bartenders, and management about guest needs and table status
Assist with crowd control during peak hours
Enforce house policies (dress code, age requirements, and conduct standards) in a respectful manner
Monitor the entrance for safety and security
Assist in maintaining a positive atmosphere in the dining and lounge areas
Support management with special events or VIP guests as assigned
Proper checking of ID's during Late Night Hours
Requirements & Qualifications
Prior experience as a host/hostess, maitre d', or doorman preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Professional appearance and polished demeanor
Ability to remain calm and organized in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to stand for long periods and work nights, weekends, and holidays
Basic computer or POS/reservation system skills
English proficiency required (speaking, reading, writing)
Multilingual abilities preferred but not required
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Skills
Prior experience as a Door Man or Maitre d in hospitality is preferred
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Square POS, Toast POS, or similar platforms
Experience in guest services, serving, or hotel environments is a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Professional phone etiquette and guest relations skills
Knowledge of restaurant operations and hospitality standards
Friendly demeanor with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6.0 - 18.0 per week
