Job Description


The Marketing Communications Specialist works in tandem with the Director of Development to execute the fundraising and communications goals of the organization. The role balances administrative fundraising tasks with creative marketing and media relations efforts to innovate and implement core marketing and communications strategies in support of enhancing our public profile, maintaining relevance, and driving financial support. The most successful candidate in this position will be adept at communicating organizational impact to a wide variety of audiences through written word (website, social media, and collateral) as well as being highly efficient in managing our fundraising database, assisting in developing campaigns, organizing and implementing special events. Three key strengths sought in the ideal candidate are exceptional writing/communication skills, innovation/creativity, and superb attention to detail. The Marketing and Development Coordinator works cooperatively and with an independent initiative to advance the mission of the organizations and increase awareness consistent with branding and imaging guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (responsibilities include but are not limited to): Administrative Management (25%)

  • Manage and maintain a donor database to include donor information, donations, and donor acknowledgments
  • Utilize the donor database to pull reports, mailing lists and donor records to assist in fundraising efforts such as the individual asks, every day, peer to peer and special campaigns
  • Manage in-kind donations including tracking, gift acceptance, and gift acknowledgments
  • Event Management (25%)
  • Provide administrative support for special events including logistics, data management, mailings, marketing, and other communication initiatives
  • Work closely with the Development Director to plan, execute and develop engaging events
  • Assist with volunteer coordination as needed
Marketing/Communications Management (50%)
  • Communicate ASC brand and initiatives efficiently and accurately via many channels (website, printed materials, social media, traditional media)
  • Develop, promote and maintain a dynamic online presence to provide awareness of programs and services and cultivate support
  • Website management: implement systems to update website content and design across all program areas
  • Research, compile and maintain active media contact database and relationships
  • Manage social media assets, including campaign ideation and execution, establish a content calendar
  • Design and publish digital and print marketing utilizing Adobe Creative Suite and other emerging tools to help refine ASC brand (Annual Report, Program Brochures, Campaigns)
  • Coordinate with program area leads to ensure consistent and effective brand communication via social media, website, video production, print materials, and verbal communication
  • Act as brand steward, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects
  • Coordinate communications and marketing efforts for special events
  • Create, format, and distribute quarterly eNewsletter
  • Manage and grow email marketing

  • Desired computer skills include a high degree of proficiency with databases, e-marketing platforms, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent driving record and a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have the capacity to handle multiple assignments with rapid turnaround and minimal supervision.
  • Must pass Background Screening, Drug-Screening, and PPD
