Summary

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, analyzing production costs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for manufactured goods. This role plays a critical part in helping the company win business through competitive and profitable pricing strategies while ensuring project feasibility.

Responsibilities

Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates. Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and sales team to gather information on materials, labor, tooling, and machine requirements. Prepare detailed manufacturing cost estimates for both custom and standard production lines. Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify cost-saving opportunities or process improvements. Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for raw materials, components, and services. Create and maintain a database of historical costs for reference in future estimates. Provide cost breakdowns and justifications for internal teams and customer quotations. Assist in the development of pricing strategies and proposals for bids and contracts. Monitor actual production costs vs. estimated costs to improve future estimating accuracy. Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing fluctuations and manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field. (Preferred but not required) 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in estimating, costing, or a related field. Preferred but not required, willing to train the right individual. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and cost estimating software. Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Catia is a plus.

Skills:

Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, and relevant estimating software) Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
