Responsibilities & Duties

  • Designing and implementing a large format battery assembly line that would automatically process battery cells for:
o Battery charge balancing

o Attaching welding tabs

o Attaching the battery management system circuit card assembly

o Performing testing

o Generating electronic reporting and record storage

o Sort cells/batteries based on test results
  • Determining appropriate square footage for setting up the battery production line
  • Planning plant layout changes to improve flow and minimize waste in other production lines
  • Creation of implementation of battery assembly work instructions for manual activities
  • Implementing appropriate safety protocols for production staff
  • Leading continuous improvement 6-Sigma activities
  • Working collaboratively with Engineering department for new product introductions
  • Meeting department goals and objectives
Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Electrical, Industrial or Physics Engineering Degree preferred
  • 5-10 years of related experience in successfully establishing large format battery production assembly lines and items listed above
  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Willing to relocate to Charleston, SC
  • Must have creditable professional references
