What you will do:

As R&D Manager, at our Plymouth, MN or St. Paul, MN location, you will be part of our Electrophysiology (EP) product development teams focused on delivering the future in diagnostic, imaging, and ablation therapy catheters and EP capital equipment. This role will involve a range of responsibilities including but not limited to management of a team that will engage with customers, conduct testing and data analysis, report results for internal stakeholders and the larger scientific community, and perform validation activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to accelerate research and new product development
  • Interact with and engage customers for product development and research purposes; provide feedback to develop user needs and customer requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute activity in support of project and team goals
  • Manage program and team budgets
  • Support design reviews and physician visits
  • Support development of risk management documentation
  • Develop expertise of the quality and regulatory requirements of Abbott, FDA and ISO regulations
  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, biological sciences, medical/clinical science or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the EP lab and/or medical device industry
  • Experience working with a team in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders (client and internal), end-users, business partners, and technical team members
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, execute, analyze, and document individual scientific studies
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data using statistical methods
  • Ability to travel 10-25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical device experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a geographically diverse, matrixed organization
  • Experience in project management and analytical techniques
  • Solid leadership skills and resilience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills

The base pay for this position is $102,700.00 \xe2\x80\x93 $205,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
