Position Specific Description

The Renewable Analytics and Solutions team within NextEra Analytics is responsible for economic analysis of utilities as well as commercial and industrial type customers across the US, with a focus on integrating renewables and storage solutions for economical-green energy sources. We advise our development team, company leadership, and external clients of optimal renewable resources to economically reduce carbon emissions while meeting certain constraints such as capacity and load requirements. We contribute to billions of dollars of investment decisions in solar, wind, battery storage and hydrogen. We are a data-driven team that believes in continuous improvement and collaboration. This means that we are always looking to develop better tools, processes, and modeling approaches through learning and knowledge sharing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manages, guides, directs and mentors analysts within the group
  • Evaluate a fleet of commercial and industrial type sites ranging from office buildings to manufacturing sites and calculate electricity and/or thermal loads along with corresponding emissions
  • Extract key operational characteristics and market assumptions to account for in assessments from internal sources and third-party databases
  • Analyzing data and drawing inferences
  • Develop optimized renewable solutions for commercial and industrial type customers in order to achieve emission targets at lowest cost
  • Evaluate and optimize renewable solutions ranging from behind the meter, battery storage, to purchasing Renewable Energy Credits, and Virtual Power Purchase Agreements
  • Understand and properly apply all state level renewable energy credits and net metering rules
  • Present recommendations and solutions in a clear and understandable format to management and internal as well as external customers
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external contacts in support of the development of renewable solutions for large commercial and industrial type portfolios
  • Support the ongoing internal tool development which performs the large commercial and industrial type portfolio assessments
  • Support multiple ad hoc projects inclusive of those above, completing them in a timely manner
