Position Summary

The Manager of Education is passionate about endurance sports and implements a world leading certification and coach development continuing education program in order to develop a talented, diverse and passionate pool of coaches and race directors.

The Manager of Education has primary responsibility for the management and coordination of strategic initiatives and programs in the department. This role serves the triathlon/multisport community through planning, coordination, and implementation of resources, education certificates, courses, conferences, and continuing education with a focus on innovation, growth, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Essential Job Functions

  • Implement the short- and long-term strategy for education as set forth by High Performance leadership. Assists in leading National Governing Bodies in growing the number of certified coaches and race directors while adding value to their ongoing development
  • Manage the department profit and loss and financial reporting which includes building and managing the department budget
  • Assist with setting key performance indicators (KPIs) and manage their achievement
  • Manage content strategy and development across certification and continuing education
  • Create resources for and work closely with the service and engagement team to enable high quality customer service to coaches and race directors in regards to certification and re-certification
  • Grow and deepen the value of Mentorship and experiential learning programs across constituent groups
  • Manage the speaker and content strategy for the Endurance Exchange industry conference
  • Liaise with the National Coaching Committee (NCC) and work closely with the Race Directors Committee (RDC) to support their work
  • Manage and implement resource and education related program development with third party content providers for coaches and race directors as they relate to certification and continuing education credits
  • Existing programs include, but are not limited to:
    • Education programs: Find a Coach, Coach on Call, and Coach of the Year
    • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access education initiatives
    • Athlete development career, education, health and wellness program (T3)
    • Anti-doping education and partnership with USADA
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

None (oversight of contracted curriculum providers)

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree required, Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred
  • 3 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years experience in continuing education leadership or other applicable field
  • Experience in developing and leading education content and programming for coaches and race directors
  • Endurance sports knowledge and experience preferred
