Summary:
Manages the daily operations of the department or assigned area/function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

Work Schedule:

  • Full Time, 80 hours / pay period

Responsibilities:
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Assesses the quality of services delivered and coordinates services with staff, medical offices, and external laboratories. Acts as Director in their absence.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor\'s degree in related field and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
Required Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub-specialty as applicable to job responsibilities. State licensure if required by law.
Minimum Experience: 2 years of related experience with 1 year supervisory.
The pay range for this position is: $43.25 - $69.19 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant\'s relevant experience.
