Black-Eyed Susans is a beach casual restaurant & tavern in Harvey Cedars opened by chef partners Ashley Pellagrino & Christopher Sanchez. Our food is both highly creative and very approachable. We create menus based on seasonally available ingredients, much of which are sourced from local farms, distributors, and fishermen. We believe that the best food is grown locally and with respect for the environment, so we've spent the past 15 years building relationships with farmers and fishermen who fit the bill! We use many organic ingredients, sustainably caught fish and seafood, and pasture raised meats.
Our wines are thoughtfully chosen to provide customers with incredible values. We have a certified level II sommelier on staff who strives to present our guests with unique and delicious wines that accompany our cuisine. Our cocktails are simple and well-executed, utilizing fresh ingredients and thoughtfully selected spirits in order to create delicious drinks to be enjoyed on their own or with our food.
This full-time position is part of our Food and Beverage Management team. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the overall success and prosperity of the restaurant from both a guest and employee perspective with an emphasis on driving quality of service, guest recognition and management to maximize cover capacity while maintaining food, beverage and service quality.
Responsibilities:
Be present at all times of high occupancy to ensure that professional, courteous and efficient guest service is offered, following the standards and sequence of service.
Establish and maintain adequate equipment and product par stock.
Handle guest service enhancements and glitch resolution in case of guest complaints or negative comments and ensure full closure of this, to the guest's satisfaction.
Staying current with F&B offerings and collaborating with Chefs and Owner on VIP experiences, enhancements, and pop-ups.
Perform pre-shifts to ensure that each employee has a professional personal appearance, as well as a professional, warm and sincere posture.
Responsible for staff communication, training, coaching, documenting any training, disciplinary records and/or absenteeism and periodically evaluating performance.
They will manage all daily activities as well as assist in development and planning for future events.
