The Operations Management Trainee is an entry-level leadership role designed to develop future operations leaders. This position will rotate through multiple production departments including Sawing, Forge, Heat Treat, Machine Shop, and Shipping to gain hands-on experience in industrial operations, process management, and personnel leadership.
The Trainee will support supervisors and management with daily operations and longer-term initiatives, with the goal of gaining a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing activities prior to permanent placement within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Support and perform supervisory functions related to daily production operations
Develop practical and technical knowledge of manufacturing processes
Assist in managing and leading hourly and salaried employees
Support cross-department operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Promote and follow safe work practices while prioritizing employee safety
Comply with all company and corporate policies and procedures
Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field preferred
Language Skills
Proficient in spoken and written English
Additional languages are a plus
Experience & Skills
5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing with progressive leadership responsibility
Experience managing hourly and salaried employees, including scheduling, payroll, coaching, and corrective action
Knowledge of workforce planning, performance management, and labor cost control
Experience supporting capital projects and continuous improvement efforts
Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and automation (VBA preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
* Experience in forge, heat treat, or machine shop environments is a plus
