Reporting to the Maintenance/Construction Technician IV, this position will perform a variety of maintenance/repairs at a medium custody male correctional facility. This position\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• 
  Functioning at the journey level in Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical, and Plumbing.
• Diagnosing and ordering appropriate repair parts and completing of work orders.
• Supervising offenders assigned to maintenance.
• Performing preventive and routine corrective maintenance tasks.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.

Note to Current State Employees :
The salary grade for this position is NC09 (Salary Range: $37,577 - $65,760). State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

About Warren Correctional Institution :
Warren Correctional Institution is a medium custody facility located in Manson, NC which houses approximately 725 male offenders. The facility provides offender labor to one Correction Enterprises operation located off site: The Janitorial Product Plant manufactures a variety of cleaning products, soap, and plastic bags that are sold to various agencies/companies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements



High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Necessary Special Qualifications: May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
