POSITION SUMMARY:





The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment essential to the mill's operations. This role ensures all equipment is in top operating condition by following preventive maintenance measures and correcting problems as they arise. The ideal candidate will have a safety-conscious mindset and strong mechanical aptitude.




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures. Take personal responsibility for their own safety and those working around them. Participate in safety huddles, stretch huddles, and near miss program. Wear required PPE. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Install, assemble, and disassemble machinery and equipment according to blueprints and technical specifications. Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal functionality. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues. Repair or replace parts using hand and power tools. Align and calibrate machinery and scanners to meet operational requirements. Weld and fabricate machine components as needed. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Stay updated with advancements in industrial technology and machinery. Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot equipment-related challenges and improve processes. Other duties may be assigned.





KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:




Excellent mechanical skills and hands-on troubleshooting ability Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Familiarity with welding, rigging, and machine alignment Strong attention to detail


DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:




High school diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical environment preferred.



REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



Lift 60# from floor to waist, lift 40# from waist to shoulder Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet Push 100# in a wheeled cart Stand on a cement floor for long periods of time Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level repeatedly Reach overhead to grasp materials Ability to walk up and down stairs to access machinery
