Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled custodian to maintain our facilities with special attention to locker rooms, restrooms, and high-use areas. Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize locker rooms, restrooms, and other high-traffic areas, including the use of floor scrubbers and power washers. Respond to basic maintenance issues such as unclogging toilets, tightening faucets, or replacing dispensers. Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA and YMCA standards. Restock supplies and report inventory needs or facility damage. Ensure safe and private cleaning in gender-designated spaces in line with YMCA protocols. Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules and complete assigned duties promptly. Support emergency cleaning and spill response as needed.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience using commercial cleaning equipment like auto scrubbers and power washers. Basic plumbing and repair skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods. Comfort working in locker room environments and following privacy/respect protocols. A commitment to health, safety, and sanitation standards. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous custodial or maintenance experience in a public facility or similar setting. Familiarity with OSHA cleaning safety standards and chemical handling.

Working Environment:

This role primarily works in indoor settings, including restrooms and locker rooms. Scheduled cleaning may occur when locker rooms are in use, and the position requires staff to follow gender-sensitive protocols to ensure member comfort and privacy.
