SUMMARY
: Provide inspection of Agency facilities and vehicles to assure a safe work environment. Will make minor repairs and will coordinate with outside vendors to provide other repairs and improvements. provide transportation to agency clients to and from various agency locations and /or their home as needed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintenance work and providing safe, reliable transportation. If you take pride in keeping facilities running smoothly, assisting others, and being part of a supportive team, this part-time position offers a consistent schedule with weekends and major holidays off.
Key Responsibilities
:
Maintenance Duties
Perform routine building and grounds maintenance (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, painting, snow removal, leaf blowing, weeding).
Respond to work orders and maintain accurate documentation.
Assist with general cleaning indoors and outdoors.
Assists with coordinates with outside vendors/contractor's for repairs and improvements to Agency facilities.
Assist with setting up furniture, equipment, or supplies as needed.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Perform additional tasks assigned by VHS management.
Driving Duties
Safely transport clients, including seniors and individuals with mental health needs, ensuring comfort and assistance as needed.
Transport staff, materials, and equipment between locations.
Ensure agency vehicles are clean, fueled, cleared in inclement weather, and properly maintained.
Follow all traffic laws and agency transportation policies.
Perform additional transport-related duties as assigned by management.
Monitors and inspects all Agency facilities and vehicles to assure compatibility with the organization's safety guidelines.
Will make repairs or arrange for same to Agency facilities and vehicles, as needed.
Deliver packages, interoffice mail and other items between sites.
Adheres to requirements in General Skills Evaluation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing; must meet agency insurance requirements.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to lift, bend, stand, walk, and work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions.
Groundskeeping experience (snow removal, lawn care, leaf blowing, etc.).
Ability to operate tools/equipment and perform manual repairs.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused setting.
Experience or comfort working with seniors and individuals with mental health needs, providing safe, courteous, and supportive transportation.
Familiarity with routine vehicle upkeep (fueling, cleaning, tire checks, inspections).
Three to five years experience in maintenance and repairs.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
:
Minimum of one to three years of maintenance services related experience.
Basic word processing skills.
