OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
/sp an

Perform maintenance and repair work on a variety ofMedic al Center plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning andrefrigerati on systems and equipment; assume independent responsibility for response to maintenance, repair and emergency trouble calls for assigned Medical Centerfacilities during other than normal working hours (second and thir d shifts) andon weekends and holidays.

WORK PERFORMED:Ess ential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned and a morecomprehensive task list may be pr ovided.

Respond to Medical Cente r emergency maintenance callsafter normal shop hours and on weekends and holidays; log all calls receivedand document action taken; perform repa ir work as needed; if permanent repairis not immediately feasible, perfo rm necessary temporary repairs sufficient tosecure the systems and facil ity; notify appropriate engineer, supervisor, orsecurity personnel if fu rther action is required.

Conduc t periodic inspections of designated facilitiesand equipment; make repai rs and perform preventive maintenance on electrical,mechanical, HVAC, re frigeration, and communication systems and equipment; makerepairs to gen eral building facilities as needed.

Respond immediately to fire alarm systems; disengageelectrical, wate r, or gas systems to protect building occupants and property;assist Publ ic Safety in removing patients, personnel, or equipment as needed.

Assist with major repairs to electric al, mechanical,HVAC, and refrigeration equipment as required.

Advise management of general condition of facilitiesand equipment and any unusual problems or concerns that may ar ise; makerecommendations for improvements and upgrades to facilities for budgetplanning.

Maintain approp riate documentation andmaintenance/repair records to ensure compliance w ith applicable regulations andcodes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to a high school education with course work in skilled crafts or trades.

Experience

Work requires broad based knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, air OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical equipment normally acquired through 3 years of building maintenance and repair experience.
