Machine Helper

FULL-TIME

$14.25/hr

Responsible for all activities associated with helping operators on all presses including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

Starting wage subject to experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setting-up slotting, feed, and die cut sections on machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
• Assisting operator in other duties.
• Monitoring board quality, including - loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper, and any other defects.
• Reporting any quality problems to the operator and sort as necessary to keep the machine running.
• Working at pace set by the machine operator.
• Cross-training on other machines as necessary. Be willing to move up the line of progression to operator regardless of shift.
• Completing necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Turning in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Being proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
• Complying with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Helping operators adhere to production schedule.
• Making recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals.
• Reporting any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor. \xe2\x80\xa2 Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Shift start: 6:00AM
Shift length: 8 - 10 hours
Monday - Friday, occasional Saturdays

Qualifications

• Must pass drug screen (cannabis excluded)
• Must pass background check
• Can lift 50 lbs
• Must be at least 18+ years old

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following: \xe2\x80\xa2 Prior work experience in the corrugated industry 6 months\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Flexo or DieCut Helper \xe2\x80\xa2 6 months\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the Press and Finishing Departments Language - Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters. \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations. The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: \xe2\x80\xa2 Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Product layouts and production specifications. \xe2\x80\xa2 Product quality specifications. Quality standards. \xe2\x80\xa2 May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License. \xe2\x80\xa2 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. \xe2\x80\xa2 The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. \xe2\x80\xa2 The employee is occasionally required to sit. \xe2\x80\xa2 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. \xe2\x80\xa2 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. \xe2\x80\xa2 The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. \xe2\x80\xa2 The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
