As a Medical Assistant, you will work in a team environment to promote a positive experience in patient care with compassion and kindness. You will support licensed staff and provider(s) in providing an excellent patient experience by efficiently meeting the patient\'s needs. You will support efficient clinic flow and communicate accurately and positively with team members. Medical Assistants work under the supervision of the physician and/or provider. Clinical oversight is provided by the RN Supervisor, Lead Nurse and/or Clinical Director of Nursing.

The Emerald Occupational Medicine clinic is hiring for an outgoing and compassionate Medical Assistant to work at our clinic located in West Boise near the Boise Regional Medical Center!

About this Position:

As an MA at the Occupational Medicine clinic, in addition to typical MA duties, you will assist patients with navigating the workers compensation system, perform drug screen collection, breath/alcohol testing, TB testing, and vaccinations. You will also have the opportunity to become certified in drug testing collection, breath/alcohol testing, and pulmonary function testing.

Often times patients are visiting the clinic due to being injured on the job, which can be a very critical and sensitive time for these individuals. So an ideal candidate will have experience with providing a high level of customer/patient service as well as a high level of compassion and have an understanding of workers compensation as it pertains to occupational medicine.

Work Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays, around the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. The position will be based in Boise, but may occasionally float to other Occupational Medicine clinics in the valley based on service line needs.

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

American Medical Technologists (RMA)

National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire

General Requirements:

Previous clinical experience preferred.

Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.

Experience with process improvement or LEAN philosophy preferred.
