Job Description

Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm; NO WEEKENDS!

The Lumber Yard Associate is responsible for performing the tasks involved in the overall operation of the lumber yard and associated equipment and for providing excellent customer service.

They perform a variety of duties, such as but not limited to:

Duties

Assisting customers loading and unloading lumber and building materials Load and unload delivery vehicles by hand or using a forklift Restocking lumber racks Building loads as needed Clean and maintain the yard including forklifts and equipment Keep accurate daily inspection logs for forklifts as required by law Keep all machinery, equipment, and tools clean and in good working order for safe usage. Refer defects or needed repairs to the supervisor. Communicates with the Lumber Department Supervisor to determine work assignments and material or equipment needs. Help out in other departments as necessary. Follow all company policies and procedures.

Skills

Knowledge of building materials and supplies Customer service experience Valid driver's license Ability to pass company administered Forklift Driver Certification and safely operate a forklift (must be 18 to operate a forklift) Must be able to safely operate equipment in all types of weather conditions. Good organizational skills and ability to multitask Dependable with high attention to detail Work safely around moving trucks and moving machinery/equipment Ability to write, read, and communicate in English

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 47.5 per week
