Licensed Practical Nurse

to provide professional, overnight nursing care in our long-term setting. Operating under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician, you will apply your full scope of nursing expertise to ensure the continuous health, comfort, and safety of residents of all ages. This role demands clinical competency, swift problem-solving, and a deep understanding of age and population-specific standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care Delivery:

Provide comprehensive professional nursing care, adhering to established nursing principles and the resident's specific care plan.

Medication and Treatment:

Administer prescribed medications and execute ordered treatments accurately and promptly.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Contribute to the ongoing assessment of residents' statuses, perform necessary testing, and evaluate data reflective of their condition.

Emergency Response:

Demonstrate the ability to quickly recognize problems, recommend effective solutions, and respond competently to assist in emergent situations.

Documentation and Reporting:

Accurately document all resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary status. Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Work effectively as a vital member of the interdisciplinary care team, providing technical support to other healthcare professionals as required.

Patient and Family Counseling:

Under the direction of a supervisor, counsel residents, family members, or advocates regarding prevention and treatment plans, and utilize resident education principles to foster self-care programs.

Relationship Management:

Skillfully establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the general public.

Safety and Comfort:

Ensure the highest level of health, comfort, and safety is maintained for all residents throughout the night shift.
Requirements

Education:

Graduate from an

accredited practical nursing program

as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An Associate Degree in practical nursing is preferred.

License:

Must hold a current,

unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

with the State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.

Clinical Experience:

Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan as part of the curriculum OR possess a minimum of

400 hours of experience as an LPN

at another facility.

Competency:

Obtain and consistently maintain all required department-specific competencies and certifications. Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements for the department and facility.

Shift Availability:

Must be available for

12-hour Night Shifts

(typically 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM) and be prepared for rotating weekend and holiday schedules.

Specialized Skills (North Dakota Only):

If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, the candidate must have graduated from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is integrated into the curriculum or have completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
