Responsible for all nursing care provided to the patient and coordination of services between all hospital departments, home health, pharmacies, and physician's offices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains organizational flow and continuum of care on all new and established patients.
2. Knowledge of all quality measures and the ongoing changes required by the government.
3. Having skills of drawing blood and knowledge of laboratory processes. Collects and accurately labels specimens for lab analysis; forwards specimens to the lab; responsible for the care and handling of specimens.
4. Performs quality controls on all equipment and keeps a log.
5. Have knowledge of EHR and the nursing functions to complete the required documentation and quality measures needed to meet standards. Knowledgeable about MIPS (Merit incentive based payment system) and follows the requirements needed to meet and exceed the clinic's goals.
6. Provide education to the patient relating to their diagnosis, disease process, and any other important information that would be beneficial to the patient to understand their illness and improvement in their overall health.
7. Responsible for daily prescription refills on established patients. Knowledgeable about patients and medications to make sure refill is needed.
8. Answering phone as a back-up to registration clerk.
9. Orders and maintains supplies to ensure proper amount is kept in the clinic for appropriate patient care.
10. Maintains a checklist on temperature logs for med refrigerator and freezer.
11. Addresses and monitors a patient's problem and reports any changes to the physician or nurse practitioner.
12. Assist other employees in the clinic when needed.
13. Online and/or telephone pre-authorizations for any CT's, MRI's, or other procedures.
14. Will check random urine drug screens on patients that receive a narcotic routinely. Will check Arkansas prescription monitoring program when the physician or nurse practitioner writes a scheduled medication for a patient.
15. Monthly checks on the AED (Automatic external defibrillator) and follow instructions on the AED checklist.
16. Demonstrates ability to function in emergency situations.
17. Logs in sample medications in the sample log book and also logs out any samples.
18. Knowledgeable on all rural health guidelines.
19. Cleans and helps maintain all equipment before and after each use.
20. Maintains the emergency kit and keeps log of when all emergency drugs expire.
REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education and Training:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing which produces graduates who are eligible to sit for the Licensed Practical Nurse Exam
B. Experience:
Prefer one year of experience in clinic nursing.
C. Licensure, Registration, Certification:
Must be licensed as an LPN in the State of Arkansas
CPR certification
