Directs and assists with resident, family/significant other education and notifies family on condition changes;
Updates plan of care when needed and observes and documents observations and care given to the residents;
Assists geriatric patients in Long Term Care (LTC);
Collect samples for lab testing as assigned;
Assists with formulating a plan of care for residents and provides nursing care to residents according to physician orders and regulations;
Provide emotional and psychological support when needed;
Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc;
Long-term care nurses also often assist patients with the tasks of their daily lives, including feeding, dressing, using the toilet and bathing;
Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks;
Record a patient's medical history accurately;
Monitor patients' condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts;
Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc;
Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc;
Communicate with patients' family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License required or compact license;
