We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of low voltage systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, cabling, and security technologies, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality service in commercial and residential settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in field service, system design, and working with various security and surveillance systems. Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage systems including CCTV, security systems, sensors, IDS, and alarm systems.
Perform cabling and wiring tasks using hand tools and power tools in construction or retrofit environments.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure proper system installation and maintenance.
Configure remote access software for system monitoring and troubleshooting.
Conduct system testing to ensure proper operation of surveillance cameras, access controls, sensors, and alarm systems.
Provide field service support for clients by diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions promptly.
Collaborate with construction teams on system integration during new builds or renovations.
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and system configurations for client records.
Ensure compliance with NEC standards and local electrical codes during all installations and repairs.
Skills
Strong knowledge of computer networking, telecommunication systems, and remote access software.
Mechanical knowledge related to construction practices and the use of hand tools, power tools, and fire alarm installation equipment.
Experience with CCTV surveillance systems, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), security system integration, and alarm system sales.
Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and system design principles for low voltage installations.
Knowledge of NEC electrical standards and cabling best practices for secure system deployment.
Ability to troubleshoot complex low voltage issues across various platforms including security cameras, access control systems, fire alarms, and surveillance equipment.
Service technician experience preferred; familiarity with locksmithing or power tools is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently in the field under minimal supervision. Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
