Position Overview:


The primary responsibility of the Life Enrichment Assistant is to assists the Life Enrichment Director in developing, implementing, and coordinating a resident-centered Activity Program designed to meet the physical, mental and psychosocial need of the residents. The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for assisting in the execution of the activities within the community. The Life Enrichment Assistant must be able to facilitate a variety of activities in a professional and do so in friendly manner that enhances the lifestyle of the residents and community.


Essential Job Functions:

Assist in developing, implanting and coordinating a resident-centered Activity Program

Assists in scheduling movies, planning parties, outings, and providing games/activities for residents, families and staff Supervise activities as needed Maintain and post a monthly Activity Calendar

Assist in the coordination of the volunteer Program

Assist in orienting, training, supporting, and supervising volunteers Assist in planning, special events designed to recognize volunteers for their service

Assist in the coordination of Social Services

Provide social support for the residents and helps with Activities of Daily Living Maintain close contact with residents, visiting when necessary, to ensure that their social, emotional, and spiritual needs are being met Answer questions and offer information to meet residents' needs Assist residents with crafts or other projects as needed Recognize residents' birthday and other special events Assist in mealtime activities, including escorting residents to the dining room and serving food trays

Promote KBRS and assist in admissions, dismissals and transfers

Distribute requested facility information, such as brochures and informational packets and gives four to interested persons Sort and deliver mail Assist residents in the move-in, move-out, or transfer process by notifying appropriate parties, distributing keys, and assisting residents with change of address forms

Assist Activities Director in Managing the Department

Contribute to the planning and decision-making in the department Stay informed about current federal, state and professional regulations, standards, also assist in developing policies and procedures when necessary Assist in maintaining an ongoing Quality Assurance program for the department Recommend needed equipment and supplies to the Director, adhere to the department budget and monitor spending

Perform administrative duties

Assist in completing required paperwork for each resident and maintaining records as required by State and Federal regulations Maintain daily and monthly evaluation of residents' participation in activities Read and follow Care Plan used in providing daily activities for the residents Participate in the Resident Council meeting as required

Qualifications and Experience:

Must be at least sixteen [16] years of age Must be able to work morning, afternoon and evening hours as well as weekends and holidays Must be able to work with residents that have various levels of physical and cognitive functioning demonstrating patience and grace whenever necessary



Physical Requirements:


Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
