Job Description

A Licensed Mental Health Professional is a person who has a graduate degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution and is licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana by the applicable professional board of examiners.

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor provides specialized knowledge and skills to adequately perform psychiatric and mental health evaluations and assessments. Strong client rapport skills and the ability to coordinate care as part of a larger team is essential. The Licensed Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing direct clinical Services intake, assessment, treatment planning, and outpatient psychotherapy to consumers. The overall purpose is to provide quality service delivered with dignity and respect for the client and community. This service is aimed at improving the client's overall mental health, and generating increased community wellness. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

General Accountabilities

Conducts Community Psychiatric Support Treatment (CPST) on a weekly basis via Telehealth or in person Provide crisis intervention services for community support staff as needed Notify the provider's staff psychiatrist of any significant change in a recipient's physical or mental status Assures that all treamnet plans are developed and implemented .Attends all scheduled staff training, team meetings, etc.... Understands, acknowledges, and agrees to adhere to Medicaid. Acknowledges responsibility to participate in agency growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana in the areas of either Counseling, Social work, or Psychology, Marriage & family therapy...provisional license accepted, supervision is available for provisional counselors, LPC, P-LPC, LCSW, LMSW, CSW, LMFT, P-LMFT

Required education:

Master's Degree

Masters degree in a Mental Health related field, from an accredited institution, with two years experience - degree must be in social work, counseling, or psychology
