The Opportunity: Work with senior decision makers to provide continuous analysis of congressional activities that may impact the organization, and acquisition programs and policies to produce summaries and reports of such activities. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for tracking Congressional bills, acts, legislation, committee hearings, and other activities with emphasis on the annual defense appropriations and authorization bills, providing analysis and evaluation of those bills, Congressional legislation, and report language to include any relevant legislation, provision, or funding initiatives that affect organizational equities and acquisition programs. In this role you will assist in the preparation of reports to Congress, monitoring and providing continuous updates to the legislative tracking tools, track the organization\xe2\x80\x99s congressional reporting requirements, maintain a list of required reports to congress, monitor deadlines and progress weekly. The analyst will also assist in the preparation of congressional appeals, testimony, issue papers, fact papers, and support Congressional staff engagements, prepare briefings for senior leaders, and prepare senior leadership prior to engagements or testimony. Provide timely summaries of information available from the Conferees and from public sources, updating a comprehensive side-by-side comparison of legislation impacting defense acquisition policy, operations, or programs, and reporting changes to proposed legislation as it passes through Committees, House, Senate, Conferences, and as enacted, and delivering legislative updates summarizing congressional activities weekly whenever Congress is in session are incumbent and paramount to successfully operating in the role.   • 2+ years of experience with working for the OSD, Joint Staff (JS), a Service-level staff office, a Congressional office, or as a Federal legislative policy analyst
  • Experience with National Defense Authorization and Appropriation process, and Planning Programming, Budgeting & Execution, and defense appropriations
  • Experience in support to senior executives in developing reports, information papers, presentation material, speeches, talking points, and prepare drafts of official correspondence
  • Ability to deliver strong technical writing, and incorporate and integrate the writing of others into a smooth, comprehensive, and readable technical document for senior-level consumption and consideration
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree
Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with drafting and managing policy documents and congressional correspondence
  • Experience with performing evaluations, studies, and analyses in support of program oversight DoD PPBE system, the DAS, and JCIDS
  • Experience with task management software, including CATMS and basic DoD staffing coordination processes
  • Knowledge of Adaptive Acquisition Framework and related DoD 5000 Series Rewrite efforts
  • Knowledge of the DoD Manual for Written Material, including Correspondence Management
  • Ability to interface smoothly and comfortably with program managers and engineers from the various Services, agencies, and combatant commands and program management offices to collect and assimilate required data
  • Possession of excellent editing skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual\xe2\x80\x99s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen\xe2\x80\x99s total compensation package for employees. Work Model
