Job Description



Key Role: Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Legislative Affairs Analyst. Work in a fast-paced environment, while paying close attention to detail and frequently engaging with senior executives. Collaborate with subject matter experts within EHRM-IO and with key VA stakeholders to ensure cross-functional Congressional integration of EHRM-IO, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and Office of Information Technology (OIT) processes and technical and functional responses. Support the Congressional Project Management Lead and maintain an up-to-date strategy to engage U.S. Congress in order to increase transparency. Monitor, track, and develop responses to correspondence (e.g., letters, questions for the record, ad-hoc requests for information) from members of Congress. Prepare clients for Congressional engagements (e.g., hearings, meetings, briefings) through the development of Congressional testimonies, oral statements, informational memorandums, etc. Monitor and analyze the impact of legislative and regulatory policies that would influence the program. Develop executive-level briefings (e.g., SES, political appointees) and documents to detail content to drive and document decision making. Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with congress or legislative affairs on drafting or editing communications as a primary work function
  • Ability to develop executive-level briefings and talking points
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, Communication, Journalism, or English and 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment or 13+ years of experience working in a professional environment in lieu of a degree
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with drafting or editing responses to GAO, IG, or FOIA requests
  • Knowledge of VA or DoD\xe2\x80\x99s organization, structure and mission
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual\xe2\x80\x99s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen\xe2\x80\x99s total compensation package for employees. Work Model
