The Office is seeking an experienced individual to support the Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will possess experience drafting court forms, pleadings and discovery documents; performing legal research and fact finding; assembling, organizing, reviewing, summarizing and processing documents; interviewing witnesses; and summarizing depositions and/or records. The successful candidate will be self-motivated; detail-oriented with good analytical skills; a team player who possesses strong organizational and computer skills; and will have good verbal and written communication skills.
The Office has two vacancies: A regular permanent position, and a second position that is funded through this fiscal year, June 30, 2026. The extension of the second position is subject to the City Manager's approval.This position is responsible for performing paralegal duties in connection with the Litigation Department requiring both sound judgment and good technical skills. These duties may include, but are not limited to review, analysis, editing, organizing and summarizing documents, media and records; drafting court forms, pleadings and discovery, preparing administrative records, and assisting attorneys with case management and trial preparation.
The annual salary range for a Legal Analyst II is $101,468.64 to
$123,330.48. This amount includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

Legal Analyst I
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible investigations or paralegal experience performing investigations, processing liability claims, OR researching and preparing legal documents such as discovery documents, pleadings, contracts, ordinances, or resolutions.
Legal Analyst II
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND five (5) years of increasingly responsible investigations or paralegal experience performing investigations, processing liability claims, OR researching and preparing legal documents such as discovery documents, pleadings, contracts, ordinances, or resolutions.
Legal Analyst III
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND six (6) years of increasingly responsible investigations or paralegal experience performing investigations, processing liability claims, OR researching and preparing legal documents such as discovery documents, pleadings, contracts, ordinances, or resolutions that are varied and complex.
