We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Leasing Specialist to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing activities, maintaining positive relationships with prospective and current tenants, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires strong communication skills, administrative expertise, and a solid understanding of property leasing processes, and Fair Housing regulations. The Leasing Specialist will play a key role in maximizing occupancy rates while providing exceptional customer service.
Duties
Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry to lease signing, including conducting property tours and explaining lease terms.
Maintain accurate records using Yardi, property management software.
Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, and other legal regulations governing property leasing.
Handle tenant screening procedures, including background checks and credit reports.
Process lease agreements, contracts, and related legal documentation with attention to detail.
Assist prospective tenants with application procedures and answer inquiries via phone and in person using professional phone etiquette.
Upsell available units or amenities to prospective tenants to maximize occupancy.
Coordinate property maintenance requests and communicate effectively with facilities management teams.
Manage tenant relations through conflict resolution and excellent customer service practices.
Conduct data entry, filing, and administrative tasks related to leasing activities efficiently.
Support marketing efforts through customer relationship management tools to attract new tenants.
Stay informed about changes in landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and industry best practices.
Experience
Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles is preferred.
Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations is highly desirable.
Experience using Yardi property management software is a plus.
Strong background in sales, negotiation, contracts management, and conflict resolution.
Previous office experience involving data entry, filing systems, or CMMS is advantageous.
Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and relationship management capabilities.
