\xe2\x80\x9cCareer in Blood\xe2\x80\x9d Responsibilities:
Position Summary:


  • Upholds customer service level that ensures every attempt is made to meet the following internal and external customer needs: friendliness, understanding and empathy, fairness, options and alternatives and information
  • Receive, record, and verify customer orders accurately; when feasible, ask customers to substitute short-dated components
  • Fill and pack orders accurately
  • Supports the department in administrative task (i.e., payroll, document review)



RIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Inventory Management and Customer Service role. Ensures adequate inventory of components in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems. Supports manager with inventory control procedures. Coordinates and manages daily physical cycle counts. Supports manager and leads plan for accomplishing department goals. This position reports to the Hospital Services Director
  • Sales and Marketing \xe2\x80\x93 Upholds sales strategies to ensure optimal distribution of RIBC blood products to instate, in region, and export customers to minimize product outdating and maximize RIBC revenues. Leads and foster positive working relationships with key industry personnel and partners. Maintain contract information for committed customers and seek opportunities to expand contract relationships when necessary. Update pricing and contract information of research customers, exports, and NBE and BCA programs.
  • Customer Service \xe2\x80\x93 Maintain relationships with all RIBC customers by providing timely correspondence to questions and concerns, distributing and analyzing customer satisfaction surveys, and distributing customer usage charts.
  • Operational Activities-Accurately record customer orders, charges and special requests for available product inventory. Prepare and prioritize shipping requests. Solicit orders from existing customer base when excess inventory is available. Follow RIBC budget pricing parameters. Use RIBC reports to demonstrate trends.
  • Communication-Coordinate special orders of product for Patient Services and research customers with the appropriate staff. Update available inventory for shipping evenings, night and weekends via written directions. Prepare, maintain and share (when applicable) hospital/customer/distribution statistical reports for weekly/monthly meetings. Work in conjunction with the Main Laboratory to investigate blood recalls for both instate and export customer.
  • Billing support and/or Contract administration support when needed.
  • Know, refer to, and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures and RIBC policies
  • See specific education requirements

  • Makes deliveries and pick-ups for customers as required
  • Follow established procedures to properly process component returns
  • Responsible for proper inventory control methods by following current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Updates each component product into the BECS during delivery returns
  • Provides training for staff members.
  • Supports Manager with contract and ad hoc order filling and reporting
  • Participate in inventory coordination and planning with donor services, laboratories etc. as directed
  • Organizes blood products by expiration dates, and follows SOP to discard expired
  • Support supervisor/manager with scheduling and leading staff assignments
  • Participate in inventory management production and planning for customer products
  • (i.e. blood, blood products , plasma )
  • Report questionable blood products or anomalies to a laboratory supervisor or designee
  • Contact hospitals and other centers to maximize utilization of available inventory
  • Facilitates interstate shipments, including documentation and tracking




Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.



Related Experience: 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Healthcare, Technical or Regulated environment (cGMP environment) Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
RIBC Inventory Management and Customer Service position requires an associate in business/sales or other related field required. Blood Center experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Minimum 3-5 years of direct Customer Service/Sales experience. Demonstrate excellence in accuracy and attention to detail, and time management.
Excellent communication skills and courteous, conscientious and professional attitude required toward staff and customers.
Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.


The proposed hourly wage for this position is $23.30 - $28.00 per hour. Offers made to an individual candidate will depend on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, and job-related education.
