Job Description

These HVAC technicians work primarily in a construction setting, in new and existing buildings. They work with numerous system parts and mechanisms. Our designers and draftsmen provide very detailed prints that our HVAC Technicians use to get the work done on time and according to plan. Work with mechanics, trainees, and other HVAC Technicians to build a high level of team work and morale. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform start-up and commissioning of HVAC equipment
• Completes start-up forms providing accurate information
• Perform Air and Water balance as required
• Completes air and water balance forms providing accurate information
• Installation of High/Low voltage controls/devices
• Run Warranty Service calls as needed
• Evaluate situations and take proper corrective action
• Perform appropriate communication with co-workers and customers
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to perform math computations needed in the trade
• Ability to read blue prints and understand cut sheets
• English language skills
• Personal computer, tablet and smart phone skills
• Ability to promote and follow building, job site and department procedures and policies
• Operating knowledge of HVAC systems and efficient use of trade tools required for hire
• Must provide all own hand tools
• Must demonstrate proficiency in area of all certifications
• Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma, completion of G.E.D.
• Equivalent technical school or work experience
• EPA Universal Certification
• Knowledge of BAS systems a plus
• 5+ years experience with 2-3 years of service background recommended
• Criminal background check required for hire
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift material, equipment, and tools, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
