A week in the life of the Lead Software Developer includes:

• Leads the software development, software integration, customer training, and demonstrations for the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
• Supervises and directs team personnel for day-to-day tasking.
• Coordinates with customers, manages expectations for team deliverables, and ensures customer/stakeholder satisfaction.
• Manages leadership expectations, reports potential risks, and communicates project status and team needs.
• Implements new and/or upgrade existing acoustic monitoring and reporting features on Linux systems
• Coordinates with external teams to receive and integrate software items into the platform
• Author, review, and execute verification and validation test plans
• Implement cyber security solutions according to (sub)system level requirements
• Provide input and expertise to IPT for future work or problem reports
• Travel to submarine bases to support tests, upgrades, or other work

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Job Requirements

• Active DoD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain higher clearances
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Engineering, Math, and Physics may qualify with at least 3 years of software build and scripting experience.
• At least three (3) years of professional experience as a Software, IT, or Systems Engineer
• Project Management experience
• Presentation/briefing experience with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills including networking, performance, and other system troubleshooting skills
• Proficient with configuration management systems such as: Azure Git
