To serve as the site point person, for plant and field quality activities, to create clearer processes, improve focus on customer satisfaction, and simplify ways of working. Provide leadership for product quality and quality related activities related to seed production, conditioning, treating, packaging and complaint handling. Serve as site steward for quality assurance and quality control documents contained in Syngenta\xe2\x80\x99s Quality Business System.
Accountabilities

  • Direct point of contact for site-based (or multi-site) and stakeholder quality related issues.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of quality systems, processes, and programs, including.
  • Field inspection programs.
  • Oversee new crop and carry-over sampling requirements
  • Ensure returned and carry-over seed sampling to meet testing requirements.
  • SAP, monitor quality processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity and input data as needed
  • Quality metrics; report and analyze performance (field through distribution)
  • Quality inspection; monitor compliance to ensure all standards attained
  • Supervise personnel
  • Ensure Regulatory requirements are met for USDA regulated crops
  • Field through shipment
  • Understanding of seed labeling laws
  • Understand seed certification laws
  • Understand interstate shipment regulations.
  • Owner of the site request for variance and non-conformity processes.
  • Coordinate and lead root cause analysis for customer complaints and deviations from company standards.
  • Lead and coordinate quality improvements and track in Productivity dashboard
  • Assist Site Manager as required, including supervision of personnel, assisting with budgets, and supporting safety initiatives
Qualifications
  • BA/BS diploma strongly preferred or 2-4 years of related experiences
  • Experience in quality related fields, or seed production
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • All applicants must be eligible to work it the US without sponsorship
  • Computer literate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP functions
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership, project management and communication skills
  • Ability to develop a highly motivated and successful team
  • Strong detail orientation and ability to execute
Physical demands and working conditions of the essential functions:
  • Position requires being able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Position requires being able to walk seed production fields in any weather
  • Position requires working 7 days a week during critical time of year
  • Position requires travel by car/pickup during certain periods of year
  • Position requires extensive travel during peak times of the year
  • Position requires be able to work in dusty and hot conditions
  • Office environment a portion of the year
