The hours for this position are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm and requires the candidate to be bilingual in Spanish or Creole.

Purpose & Impact:

The Lead Program Assistant is responsible for all clerical support and data entry for the CRS program.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides clerical support for the program with primary duties relating to the compilation of program statistical data for entry Into SW Client Management System and upload to the Refugee Services Database System (Web RS).
  • Assist Data Analyst In ensuring and providing accurate, timely, and pertinent data regarding SW CRS.
  • Assists all CRS staff, as appropriate, with clerical duties relating to client intake, client interviews, and client orientation.
  • Serves as translator as needed based on appropriateness and availability.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential client records for each client enrolled in CRS.
  • Keeps client\xe2\x80\x99s flies updated by ensuring that DCF approved forms are in use; by completing required forms and photocopying required documents.
  • Keeps the petty cash and distributes cash as authorized by the CRS Director.
  • Makes appointment for clients as directed.
  • Assists CRS staff during conference and outreach Mans the LSF booth or table.
  • Maintains and updates a directory of referral resources that provides services to Refugees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
  • With permission will under special circumstances act as advocate and transport clients to appointments scheduled with public assistance services agency doctors & medical/health care organizations and other services; transport and accompany clients to their appointments and assist them in dealing with third party.
  • Must possess a clean/valid Florida Driver License, reliable transportation and proof of Insurance (transcript of driving record will be requested from the Department of Motor Vehicle at the time of hire).
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to travel to other counties specified in the contract.
  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time utilizes telephone, computer, and multi-function copier.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education:

High School/GED Diploma required. Associate degree preferred.

Experience:

Three years of experience in the related field.

Skills:
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Able to work with the public.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred!
  • Able to speak, read, and write English and a second language fluently according to contractual needs.
  • Computer proficiency preferred.
  • Must exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive issues and good judgment.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Dependable and reliable.
Other:

Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population\'s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

  • Accurate, complete, and timely submission of paperwork.
