Job Description


Lead Material Handler We are seeking an upbeat individual with strong communication, leadership and distribution skills to fill a Team Leader role on our International Distribution Team Responsibilities:

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of performance metrics.
  • Provide immediate supervision to assigned staff; including personnel recruitment, regular performance evaluation and monitoring for development purposes, as well as ensuring appropriate resources are available and the effective use thereof. Provide strong leadership direction working within a very diverse workforce.
  • Build links with the Inventory team regarding daily direction and workload focus.
  • Support safety initiatives including incident investigations and reporting within the required timeframe. Participate in safety walkthroughs and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the shipment of material and/or finished goods in a timely manner according to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide role-model leadership in inspiring change to achieve continuous improvement through Lean standard methodologies in Warehousing, Material Flow and Logistics.
  • Balance labor resources across distribution operations to assure the overall success of the Department.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for Customer, Supplier and/or Manufacturing supply issues.
  • Support labor resource forecasting under the direction of the Distribution Manager.
  • Support and help continuous improvement activities for service level performance.
  • Engage with various carriers on both the inbound and outbound side of the operation.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s) ensuring consistent and reliable processes and procedures align with all regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Maintain work areas within the spirit and guidelines of 5S in accordance with Lean manufacturing and company guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of experience within a distribution/operations environment.
  • Minimum of one year of leadership experience in a leadership position a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Consistent track record of empower teams and establish goals, metrics, data and plans to achieve interpersonal objectives.
  • Ability to build and be an excellent partner with key internal and external customers / suppliers; including success functioning as a change agent / team leader and team member in a multi-skilled matrix business environment.
  • DOT and IATA certified.
  • Knowledge of the Groupage transactions.
  • MS-Office Capabilities (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
