The USCAN Commercial Accounting Analyst is responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. This role is hybrid meaning the incumbent may work from home 2 days per week.
The position supports various functions, including controllership, FP&A, cash, commercial operations, and commercial finance.
Roles and Responsibilities The USCAN Commercial Accounting Analyst will collaborate with the US and Canada region commercial operations, finance, and cash teams to improve operational accounting processes. This role is responsible for delivering effective commercial accounting through defining and implementing future state process solutions, carrying out strong commercial processes, adhering to applicable policies for commercial related transactions.
Simplify and automate accounting processes (i.e. Global Recall Reserves, Group purchasing organization obligations, service and equipment accounting including Extended Warranty, etc.) partnering with FP&A team to ensure model\xe2\x80\x99s output and timing provides them with required data for forecasting and variance analysis
Manage quarter close processes including cross-functional communications and reviews, adjusting entries, and account reconciliations
Assess and execute on opportunities to expand operational accounting ownership into other areas
Lead and manage cross-functional process improvement initiatives to drive simplification, consistency, and compliance around all aspects of the identified commercial process
Assist in internal/external audit closures as well as acquisition and disposition activities related ownership areas
Provide research and resolution to complex issues and procedural challenges
Perform ad hoc special projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field and a minimum of 3 years progressive accounting or finance experience
Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers generate alternatives and drive positive change
Clear thinking / problem solving: able to lead cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to grasp new ideas quickly
Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver messages effectively verbally and in writing
Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Alteryx, BOXI, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation, aggregation, and simplification
Desired Characteristics
Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position; for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving controllership/GEHC Values
Prefer experience in developing finance dashboards.
Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows
Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment and succeed in a matrix environment
