Overview

The Lead Barista is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the beverage program within our establishment. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for hospitality and a deep understanding of coffee, tea and non-caffeinated hot/cold beverages. The Lead Barista will work closely with the culinary team to ensure that our beverage offerings complement the dining experience while maintaining high standards of quality and service. Candidate MUST be available for morning shifts!

Cafe Motif is a farm-to-table Art Cafe inside The Clove Art Complex, with an Asian-Mexican fusion menu. We are looking for someone with a passion for coffee and tea. We would love to explore different types of coffee, and create beautiful coffee and tea drinks!

Duties

Develop and implement an innovative beverage program that aligns with the restaurant's vision and enhances guest satisfaction. Manage all aspects of beverage operations, including inventory management, ordering, and cost control. Collaborate with the kitchen team to create beverage pairings that enhance menu offerings. Train and mentor staff on beverage preparation, service techniques, and product knowledge to ensure exceptional guest experiences. Ensure compliance with food handling and safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness in all beverage areas. Monitor industry trends to keep the beverage program fresh and relevant, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques. Foster a positive team environment through effective team management and communication. Manage FOH opening duties and ensure a welcoming, and clean environment is presented to our customers.

Qualifications

Proven experience in hospitality management within a restaurant or hotel setting, preferably in casual dining. Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and cocktail crafting is highly desirable. Experience in staff training, interviewing, and team management is essential for success in this role. Familiarity with food handling practices and health regulations is required. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A passion for beverages and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
