Bachelors degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology OR an associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

Position Responsibilities (general duties include, but are not limited to):
Collaborate in the development, implement, and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and standards for the laboratory
Supervise the overall Quality Assurance Program
Ensures the laboratory safety policies are being adhered to
Documentation of accession/processing
Check specimens for labeling and amounts of specimen
Checks specimens for billing
Checks specimens for insurance
Enter information into logbook and computer files
Maintains temperature, maintenance logs, and service logs
Prepare appropriate paperwork
Troubleshoot protocol and equipment malfunctions
Troubleshooting through technical support
Observe safety precautions for both chemical and blood borne pathogen hazards
Clean laboratory/equipment and stock laboratory supplies
Perform quality control, proficiency testing and quality assurance activities related to test performance
Testing or patients
Ability to use transfer pipettes, glass pipettes, and adjustable pipettes for patient testing
Help as additional tests are added to the laboratory.
Answer phone calls for offices calling for results
Weekly/monthly supply ordering
Fulfill laboratory supply orders for stocking other locations
Maintain current all logs and evaluations of the different tests performed
Keep track of all open and unopen reagents, including open dates and expiration dates of bottle and reagents
Taking used boxes, supply boxes to the trash
Unloading boxes/reagents in a timely fashion
Organization of supplies and reagents
Data analysis
Result reporting accurately
Data entry
Maintain accurate records for QC and QA.
State reporting of reportable diseases
Sorting and scanning of patient records
Maintaining accuracy and evaluation of the current test pending list
Communicating to the offices for
Receiving in specimens/checking billing/orders
Memorizing routine blood panels
Communicating with offices on specimen collection, test pricing, missing specimens, incorrectly collected specimens, and other questions they may have or other procedures we need to communicate to the offices
Check off reports that could include and are not limited to positive STD reports, temperature checks, monthly inventory, monthly/weekly supply orders, maintenance checks, open date checks
Will help cover shifts when other coworkers are out
If over 21, sometimes helping with the courier run
Reading and responding to all emails
