Overview:
The Associate Laboratory Technician is responsible for preparing and conducting a wide variety of laboratory tasks. Under general direction, they support testing and analysis to develop observations and results.


The Associate Laboratory Technician supports the work by maintaining laboratory equipment and inventorying levels of supplies. They generally work on problems of limited scope and receive detailed instructions on work performed. They apply organizational policies and procedures to resolve routine issues while learning to apply professional concepts. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory tasks. Prepare, label and weigh samples for processing, testing and analysis. Verify and reject hypotheses using established methods.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) to ensure consistency in practice. Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Make detailed observations and analyze data. Test, validate, and document results neatly and accurately in databases or paper records.
  • Document record keeping logs for work performed to help support decision making.
  • Maintain laboratory ensuring all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean, sterile, and in proper working order. Perform limited troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.
  • Maintain laboratory supply levels by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Write reports, summaries, and protocols.
  • Support work to assist in media preparation.
  • Solve problems of limited scope applying organizational policy and procedure to resolve routine issues.
Qualifications:
E ducation and Experience:
  • High School diploma and 0-2 years\' experience or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to function as a participant in a team environment.

  • Ability to interpret freeze dryer and cryomed run data.

  • Ability to exercise judgment and make good decisions.

  • Communicates effectively with ATCC programs as well as customer and technical service needs.

Other Duties:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
