Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our fast-paced laboratory in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine. This role ensures smooth workflow, maintains inventory, manages safety and compliance, and supports operational activities. The Laboratory Coordinator will play a key role in managing supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety standards.

Responsibilities



Ordering and Inventory Management

Procure and track supplies, materials, and office supplies. Maintain vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and handle vendor registrations. Implement and manage a Kanban inventory system for efficient stock control. Monitor and replenish stock levels to prevent shortages and disruptions. Prepare and aliquot lab materials for general use.
Laboratory Safety and Compliance

Conduct safety training for new employees and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and maintain proper documentation. Oversee the storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals and biohazardous waste following regulatory guidelines. Ensure lab members follow proper biosafety and chemical hygiene protocols.
Equipment Maintenance and Lab Operations

Maintain logbooks for lab equipment to track usage and service history. Conduct preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of certain equipment in-house Schedule and coordinate with outside vendors for preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for equipment not serviced in-house. Ensure lab cleanliness and ensure adherence of 5s principles. Identify opportunities for workflow improvements to enhance efficiency. Report and document incidents or equipment malfunctions. Monitor overall lab operations and environmental conditions. Act as the primary point of contact for lab-related inquiries. Coordinate lab meetings and training sessions
Documentation and SOPs

Develop, update, and maintain lab operations SOPs. Ensure compliance with internal protocols and industry regulations.
Special Projects

Participate and support operational projects related to expansion of facility, adapting new systems and processes Assist in facility upgrades and space planning Work with cross-functional teams for automation and digitization
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Cell biology, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field. Preferred experience with iPSCs, stem cells, cell biology, tissue engineering etc. Cell culture and different cell assays experience also preferred. Experience with biotech startups or small biotech companies preferred. 2-5 years of experience in a lab management or coordination role. Familiarity with lab safety regulations and chemical handling procedures. Experience withinventory management systems (e.g., Kanban, LIMS). Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic research environment. Ability to work independently in less structure environment Strong analytical skills are also preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
