Job Description

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, maintain retains and analyze samples (raw and finished products, HPLC)
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Design and execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, specifications, make observations and interpret findings
• Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods
• Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions
• Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
• Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
• Performs other work related duties as assigned by supervisor/management
• Must be able to work varying/rotating shifts (shift work is not typical, if required it is only temporary)
• Must be able to occasionally work over 40 hours a week (Typical only during the busy season Jan-May and is rotational)
• Help troubleshoot plant and customer problems

Skills/Qualifications

• Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position (optional)
• Must work well with others and be team oriented
• Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.) (optional)
• In depth knowledge of QHSE Systems, preventative measures and laboratory best practices (optional)
• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
• Bachelor\'s Degree (BS) in biology, chemistry or relevant field (optional)
