JOB SUMMARY The Lab Tech Assistant is an essential member of the Laboratory team, responsible for assisting Lab Technologists by performing tasks that do not require certification. He/She will be responsible for: centrifuging, receiving, labeling, and delivering specimens. They will call reference labs or utilize reference lab websites for specimen requirements. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be willing to complete a medical terminology class within 1 year of hire
Experience:
  • 1-year previous experience in a medical setting/direct patient care preferred
  • Previous customer services experience required
Other Skills Required:
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once
  • Working knowledge of computer systems
