Hemingway's Underground - Medina, OH

We're hiring a motivated cook who wants to grow into a

lead role

. This position is perfect for someone who learns fast, stays focused, and wants to be part of a creative, non-traditional kitchen serving elevated Greek-inspired dishes, entrees, and shareables.

You'll start on the cold side of the line, learn our flow, and move into hot side and leadership responsibilities as you demonstrate consistency, reliability, and initiative.

You'll be working side-by-side with ownership every day

, getting direct support and real opportunities to advance quickly.

What You'll Do

Start on the cold side (salads, sandwiches, boards, garnishes) Advance to hot side as skills and consistency develop Assist with prep and basic cooking tasks Plate dishes to standard with attention to detail Keep stations stocked, organized, and clean Support overall kitchen flow and communicate with the team

Wash dishes and maintain dish flow

(shared responsibility)

Handle general kitchen cleaning:

wiping down, sweeping, mopping, end-of-shift tasks Learn opening and closing procedures to eventually run shifts independently

The Advancement Path

You'll be trained step-by-step with clear expectations, working directly with ownership the entire time. As you master each station, you'll move toward:

Opening the kitchen on your own Closing the kitchen on your own Supporting other cooks Taking on lead responsibilities during service

Compensation

Competitive, based on experience and performance.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 50 per week
