The Nantucket Public Schools is seeking a qualified candidate for an experienced educational leader as the K-12 Director of Curriculum and Assessment for Humanities (ELA, Social Studies, Unified Arts). This individual plans, directs, develops, coordinates and reviews systemwide curriculum development and related instructional assessment. PLEASE NOTE: this is a 10-month position (August 15, 2023 - June 30, 2024). This individual reports to the Superintendent of Schools.RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS: Ensures K-12 Humanities curriculum alignment to Massachusetts Frameworks and Common Core State StandardsCollaborates with teachers and administrators to ensure vertical curriculum alignment and college readinessReviews and makes recommendations for instructional materialsCoordinates district-wide formative and summative assessments.Manages federal and state grants related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment specifically, but not limited to Title I of the ESEAIdentifies, plans, implements, evaluates, and records Professional Development for Teachers and TAs within curriculum contentWorking with building principals and program directors, assists in the development of the Nantucket Public Schools budget that pertain to curriculum, assessment, and professional development.
Plays a leadership role in fostering professional growth, planning and in-service education.
