Overview CORMAC is looking for a hardworking and passionate individual who brings innovation to fill our current Junior Financial Assistant opening. This position will assist with all financial aspects of government contract accounting, such as billing and accounts receivable, financial reporting and reconciliation, processing financial transactions, and tracking time and expenses. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage subcontractor invoice review for compliance to contract terms and identification of unallowable costs.
Track actual contract costs versus award amounts.
Proactive follow-up on outstanding receivable balances and suspension notices.
Manage monthly expense and reimbursement accruals.
Coordinate the invoice approval process, providing necessary backup documentation and follow up with the Finance Manager/Accountant to ensure all payments are completed in accordance with due dates.
Assists in the preparation of financial documentation to include project-related development, budget development, spend plans, execution reports, and other financial documentation and tracking.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
2 - 3 years of Finance or Accounting related experience (preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Some college (Degree preferred)
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experienced user of MS Office toolset including Word, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of all contract types including FFP, CPFF, CPAF, and T&M (preferred but not required)
Able to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects under tight deadlines required
Able to perform tasks with both minimum supervision and close oversight
